Artisan

Level 1: Novice

Practical Use: Amateur
Category: P
Limitations: PPD
Description: In the grand scheme of things, you are still an amateur artisan. You have basic knowledge of proper techniques and mediums for basic items, such as sketchings, simple pots, carvings, paintings, single color tattoos, and jars. You gain access to level 1 Artisan Production recipes, and the ability to Appraise the monetary value of an artisan item. Select one recipe from the level one Artisan list when gaining this rank in this skill.

Special Use: Likeness
Category: A
Limitation: TDL
Description: You can form an accurate likeness or rendering from memory or mere general description. If you as a player cannot physically draw, you may instead take a photograph while pantomiming the action of sketching for 1 full minute; however, these photographs must be run through editing software to blur the image into a sketch or painting before it can be counted as an object made with this skill. The upside of this is that you can later "improve" the image as you progress in your level within the Skill.

 

Level 2: Apprentice

Description: You are now capable of creating more complicated items, such as embossings, complex drawings, two-color tattoos, chests, metal engraving/castings, etc. You gain access to level 2 Artisan Production recipes. Select one recipe from the level two Artisan list when gaining this rank in this skill.

Special Use: Basic Forgery

Description: You are skilled enough at art to duplicate existing artworks, or even signatures, to a level that the average person cannot tell the difference between it and the original. Copies created of items are non-functional. You can forge copies of artworks and signatures. See Plot.

 

Level 3 - Journeyman

Practical Use: Virtuoso

Description: You can now create large scale murals, mosaics, puzzle boxes, stained glass, three-color tattoos, lifelike portraits/carvings/statuary, and large architectural embellishments. You gain access to level 3 Artisan Production recipes. Select one recipe from the level three Artisan list when gaining this rank in this skill.

Special Use: Remembrance
Category: A
Limitation: TDL
Description: You may produce a true likeness of a past event/person/etc that you have experienced or have first hand knowledge of. Your images restores 1 memory known to be Altered or Erased, however the image must be something directly related to the person's missing or altered memory fragment. This may be in the form of a clear image or regular photograph with a Sepia wash. These images may be taken at any time and later used to "jog" the memory of anyone present when it was made.

 

Level 4 - Master

Practical Use: Protective Glaze
Category: A
Limitation: TDL
Description: You have mastered the ability of craftsmanship where you can create a protective coating to be used of an item to grant it a single Resist to a destruction effect until the next reset. An item can be reglazed once the previous glaze has been used or expired. This will stack with an item's existing Resists, but only one Glaze may be applied to an item at a time.

Description: You are not only capable of such fine works as four-color tattoos and finely detailed art, but you can also detect when something is not a genuine article. You gain access to level 4 Artisan Production recipes. Select one recipe from the level four Artisan list when gaining this rank in this skill. You may also detect Basic Forgeries.

 

Level 5 - Grand Master

Practical Use: Greater Forgery
Category: P
Limitation: PPD
Description: Your forgeries have reached a skill level that even the person you are copying cannot always tell the difference. You can even make a copied item functional with the help of someone that knows how such items are made and a schematic. You gain access to level 5 Artisan Production recipes. Select one recipe from the level five Artisan list when gaining this rank in this skill. You now produce Greater Forgeries in place of your Basic ones, and they can duplicate a specific item (including Maker's Mark and functionality) when used in conjunction with the appropriate Production Skill(s).

Special Use: Instill Emotion

Description: Your art is so moving, it has the ability to Instill Emotion in onlookers that study it. The Emotion to Instill must be listed on tag. The emotion is instilled after 3 seconds of studiously looking at the item.

Performing Arts

Level 1 - Novice

Practical Use: Ingenue
Category: P
Limitation: U
Description: Knowledge of basic drama, music and dance techniques: Can memorize scripts/routines/etc. on short notice. You are able to make a small living acting/singing/busking/etc. Gain a 1d6 silver stipend each event at checkin. This represents you performing or busking in some fashion between games. Let Plot know what you do to make money, and be aware if you have to go into hiding or stop performing for whatever reason, the stipend will end until you begin performing again.

Description: 1 minute performance = Buff of performer's choice (Battle, Protection, or Healing)
Tagline: “Beginning Battle/Protection Aria (Performance of some sort) Voice Effect - Battle/Protection Buff - effect” or "Beginning Healing Aria; Voice Effect: Pause Bleedout (Performance of some sort) Resume Bleedout"
Battle Buff= Voice Effect: Allied Grant 5 Vital Strike 2s.  This grants all allies 5 extra Vital Strikes that are not part of their limitation of 5.
Protection Buff= Allied 2 point skin until used; expires at reset if unused.
Healing = Keep all people/creatures in range of the performance from bleeding to death, pausing bleed out counts for as long as the performer can perform.

 

Level 2 - Apprentice

Practical Use: Thespian
Category: P
Limitation: U
Description: Can direct/conduct/choreograph small performance pieces with a keen eye for space, lighting and staging. You make a fair living perfoming. You now gain a 2d6 silver stipend each event at checkin instead of the previous amount.

Special Use: Monologue
Category: A
Limitation: TDL
Description: 3 minute Performance= Buff of performer's choice (Battle, Protection, or Healing)
Tagline: “Beginning Battle/Protection Monologue (Performance of some sort) Voice Effect - Battle/Protection Buff - effect” or "Beginning Healing Monologue; Voice Effect: Pause Bleedout (Performance of some sort) Voice Effect: Stabilize" (if interrupted, instead they would say Resume Bleedout as above.)
Battle Buff = At the end of the performance you may now call a Voice Effect Allied Reset Offensive Abilities.  This resets all offensive combat abilities.
Protection Buff = Allied 4 Point skin until used: Expires at reset if unused.
Healing Buff = Keep all people/creatures in range of the performance from bleeding to death and eventually stabilizing them at end of performance.

 

Level 3 - Journeyman

Practical Use: Maestro

Description: Can write scripts/scores/songs/blocking instructions/etc: Can manage and promote large productions/stage companies. Your performance skills now bring in quite a paycheck. You now gain a 3d6 silver stipend each event at checkin instead of the previous amount.

Special Use: Crescendo

Description: 5 minute performance = Buff of your choice. (Battle, Protection, or Healing)
Tagline: “Beginning Battle/Protection Crescendo (Performance of some sort) Voice Effect - Battle/Protection Buff - effect” or "Beginning Healing Crescendo; Voice Effect: Pause Death Count (Performance of some sort) Resume Death Count"
Battle Buff= For one minute, all strikes are Allied +1 damage.
Protection Buff= 4 points of Toughness for two hours.
Healing Buff= Keep all people/creatures in range of the performance's souls in their bodies for as long as the performer can perform.

 

Level 4 - Master

Practical Use: Pied Piper

Description: Voice Effect Summon that can pull all within range to the performer for as long as they continue the performance. This includes those hiding/concealed/invisible/etc. This is a Mental Effect, and will work on people or animals.

Special Use: Sonata

Description: 5 minute Performance - Buff of your Choice.(Battle, Protection, or Healing)
Tagline: “Beginning Battle/Protection/Healing Sonata (Performance of some sort) Voice Effect - Battle/Protection/Healing Buff - effect.”
Battle Buff= Allied Reset Combat Abilities.
Protection Buff= Allied Immunity to Mental Effects for one hour to all who hear performance.
Healing Buff= Grants two levels of enhanced healing to all who heard performance for 30 minutes.

 

Level 5- Grand Master

Practical Use: Enthralling Performance
Category: A
Limitation: OPD
Description: Calms all aggressive behavior for the length of the performance. Voice Effect: Arcane Greater Calm. This effect works on animals as well.

Special Use: Nocturne
Category: A
Limitation: OPE
Description: 5 minute Performance - Buff of your choice. (Battle, Protection, or Healing)
Tagline: “Beginning Battle/Protection/Healing Nocturne (Performance of some sort) Voice Effect - Battle/Protection/Healing Buff - effect.”
Battle Buff: Allied. For one minute all strikes are called as mortal blows.
Protection Buff: For ten minutes Allies gain Threshold 2.
Healing Buff: For the next 30 minutes audience gains the ability to ignore all of the effects of all limb wounds. (If three limb wounds are taken while under the effect of this you will fall critical at the end of the 30 minutes if no healing is given.)

Written Word

Level 1 - Novice

Special Use: Symbolism

Description: With the clever use of simile/metaphor/insinuation/etc. you can obscure the real meaning of your writing, so that only those with inside knowledge will realize the truth of what you say. In other words, you can say one thing while meaning another, either by encoding your true meaning or by simply using analogies and the like. When telling a lie you may use the Tagline: Bluff, to make a person utterly believe you.

Special Use: Deeper Meaning
Category: A
Limitation: TDL
Description: You can detect an author’s real intent and meaning in the underlying symbolism and phrasing. In other words, you can read between the lines to determine if an author was writing in metaphor or code. Further you can translate this to conversation, becoming a human lie detector. You are able to read the truths in what people say, able to see when people are lying to you and calling “No Effect” to Bluff.

 

Level 3 - Journeyman

Special Use: Clarity of Thought
Category: P

Description: Your writing can reveal the truth of an item/situation/person/etc. With a 5 word written or spoken phrase, you can grant a single Mental Resist. Written phrases must be written each time, not reused. This stacks with other sources of Mental Resists, but not with itself.

 

Level 4 - Master

Special Use: Propaganda

Description: Sway the reader's opinion or emotion towards a subject, or instill an emotion towards a subject. Emotion to Instill must be written on the item/tag.

Description: You can literally embed subtle instructions or thought patterns into reader's minds. (As per Alter Memory.) Document to hide the instructions must be at least twice as many 'mundane' words as the instructions hidden within them.
